The oldest part of the four acre Great House Estate was formerly the White Hart Hotel, dating back to Elizabethan days. There was a building on the original site which was part of the Bishop's Palace and the six cottages now forming the Hideaway were built in the sixteenth century. Today The Great House at Sonning consists of 59 bedrooms located in 6 separate buildings: The Hideaway, Manor House, Coach House and Palace Yard in addition to the original White Hart. Our newly built Clocktower (opened August 2006) houses 18 executive double rooms. All rooms have private facilities en suite, satellite TV, direct dial telephones with data-ports, tea & coffee making facilities, irons and ironing boards, bathrobes, mineral water and fresh fruit bowls. In addition, the Executive Clocktower bedrooms also have Kingsize beds, 32 inch LCD TVs with Freeview, mini-safes and twin bathrooms. Wireless broadband is now available in all bedrooms, meeting rooms and public areas - tickets may be purchased from Reception.
In addition to our standard tariffs we also offer a range of special packages for events such as Valentine's Day, Christmas and New Year - click here for details
